Emi Samata

Consultant & Interpreter

My main work experience has been as a communication specialist with various production experiences in advertising and media industries.

Several years ago I expanded my efforts working with foreign clients in financial industry. At that time
I realized there were many smaller scale of foreign companies who would like to do business with Japan.

However, it was difficult for them to take a first step in winning business because of lacked credible contacts, they were unfamiliar with Japanese language, culture, and unsure how to enter the complex Japanese  market.

I realized my background and skills could make a bridge between Japan and overseas.

I truly enjoy meeting people from all over the world and assist their business. I am honored to present our culture and quality time for you.

Cultural difference between Western and Japanese

There are so many visitors from overseas who are interested in Japan and Japanese culture today. However many of them, especially business men who deal with Japanese often face the same issue-"Cultural gaps."

The way of Japanese business and mind-set are very different than western way. The key thing is to respect others and being humble in Japan. They do business based on trust and highly value relationships with the bond, which it has been cultivating over many years.

I have many similar experiences that Western people do not understand why Japanese say things indirectly and often leave a room without any clear answers.

I have lived and traveled many other countries and understand Western culture and mentality. I know that it could be challenging and struggle for them dealing with Japanese.

It is truly reward for me to assist filling those cultural gaps as well as contributing your business expansion in Japan.
I believe that passion will be passing to each other beyond nationalities or cultural gaps. Once we connect by our heart, our relationships will grow from then.

For those who face the issue or who are planning to come to Japan, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Emi Samata
